Are tires accepted at County Disposal Sites?

Residents may bring, without cost, up-to-four (4) light duty tires per year, to several County Disposal Sites including: BenaBoronMojave-RosamondRidgecrestShafter-WascoTaft, and Tehachapi Landfills, as well as the Kern Valley and Lebec Transfer Stations. Any light duty tires, in excess of four (4), will be charged at $2.00 per tire.  Tires are NOT ACCEPTED at the McFarland-Delano Transfer Station, Glennville Transfer Station, or any Bin Site.

NOTE: It is illegal to transport more than 9 tires, to a disposal site without a Waste Tire Hauler Registration from Kern County Environmental Health Services. Tires must be deflated if it still on the rim.
